Skills development
We all have strengths, deficits, and blind spots in applying mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional recognition and regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness in our lives — shaped by how well these were modelled for us growing up, and by the opportunities we've had to build them since. Skills development work is about building or sharpening these directly, in whichever format and intensity suits you.
Skills for life
Skills for life will teach and enhance practical skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, based on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). It's planned as a series of weekly workshops over a six-month cycle, capped at 8 participants to keep the group genuinely workable and personal.
Although DBT was originally developed for people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), many others find these same skills genuinely useful — including parents, carers, managers, and leaders wanting to model and practise them well. Many neurodivergent people also find having the "rules" of self-regulation and interaction explicitly spelled out genuinely helpful.
